POLOKWANE – His real name is Albert Seduma and he hails from Ga Mphahlele, Seleteng.
He says his burning passion for music was sparked by his uncle who used to play records of the notorious rap icon 2pac Shakur, Biggie and Eminem.
“I then developed an interest in word play used to express the injustices and police brutality faced in everyday life. Thanks to my uncle who showed an aptitude for poetry, I also learned the ins and outs about poetry,” he explained.
He then met his primary school friend who shared the same passion for Hip-Hop and rap music.
The two started a due, mimicking hip-hop songs from the radio.
In 2001 he joint a school choir led by Mr Mabotja a school teacher who noticed Troit’s ability to sing tenor and lead, then decided to take him under his wing which afforded him an opportunity to grow and enhance his singing ability.
Over the years he has been engaging and interacting with other Hip Hop cats in the city so that he get inspiration for his music.
He has since 2006 been performing at events hosted by both government and private companies which is where he says he grows and markets his brand and music. He has performed alongside other local artists such as Mopedi, Professor X and Loza and also started going to various competitions with them.
The very same year he entered a competition that earned him the bragging rights in his neighbourhood, (the name of the competition called I Can sing).
He took number two spot in the hip-hop category first division at Mankweng Hall.
He later went to scoop the first price at provincials for hip-hop category again and from that point on he performed around Polokwane and Limpopo.
In 2007 he went to compete again for the love life competitions along with his group and obtained position one and continued performing along the years. He has shared the stage with the likes of Zola, Rhythmic Elements, Speedy, candy and Dj sbu just to name a few.
Regardless of the hurdles of life, he stood up and made a name for himself around Polokwane with the hit EP titled (It’s been a Pleasure) and he has released his first 2018 studio album titled ‘Tsholofelo 2issues’.
He is now working with the talented Kgaogelo Mabitsi (kay-G) and collaborated with a local vibrant artist and producer by the name of Godfrey Malebatja (Ghee). The duo has made formidable team and decided to name the mash-up ‘AFri-Can EDM’.
