POLOKWANE – The Olifantspoort plant is out of operation due to power failure caused by a storm, reads a post on the Polokwane Municipality Facebook page.

They say Lepelle Northrn Water (LNW) has reported the matter to Eskom and they are attending to it.

“All areas supplied from this line will be affected and can experience shortages. These areas include Lebowakgomo, Zebediela, Ga-Maja, Ga-Chuene, Polokwane, Seshego, Mankweng.”

“Reservoir levels remain critically low due to supply disruptions. The currently supply is being received from Ebenezer, therefore, residents living in the low catchment ares are advised to use water sparingly to avoid critical shortages. No watering of gardens.”

“Water tankers will be deployed to the affected areas to provide temporary relief,” the municipality concludes.
