Suspects invade Levubu home, hold woman (62) at gun point

LIMPOPO – The Police have launched a massive manhunt for a group of armed suspects involved in a robbery incident where a 62-year-old woman was held hostage at gun point on a plot outside Levubu.

It is alleged that four armed suspects entered the home and held her at gun point and robbed her of an undisclosed amount of money, three firearms (two handguns and a Tiger 223 rifle), household items. The items were then loaded into the victim’s white BMW “‘X5” and they fled the scene suspects fled the scene, said Police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

“The Police were summoned, reacted swiftly and traced the suspects to where they recovered the abandoned vehicle near Dzwerani Dzondo village outside Thohoyandou.”

The suspects involved in this matter are still unknown and the Police appeal to anyone with information that can lead to their apprehension to contact Detective Warrant Officer Mutshutshu Mudogwa on 072 107 6731. ALternatively they can contact their nearest Police Station, the 24-hour Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or the crime line sms 32211.

The Police investigations are continuing, he concluded.
