POLOKWANE – She will light up the stage at Meropa Casino in a one night only concert on 24 August. She touts the tour as a celebration of women, perseverance and the beauty of life.
“We are delighted to welcome this celebrated South African songstress to our stage for the first time in August.
“Fittingly, she takes to the stage in Women’s Month for a show she has called a ‘celebration of women’. Fans can look forward to seeing her perform songs from her new album, Brave, True and Strong. We cannot wait to see Unathi in Polokwane,” says Raksha Gunpath, PR and Promotions Manager at Meropa Casino.
According to Unathi, the past few years have been both beautiful and challenging.
“I have taken control of my life and I know what I want to achieve. Be brave,” she says.
Unathi describes her new album as joyful, emotional and a breath of fresh air, adding that her “sound is definitely what my fans have come to know”.
“This album is the culmination of everything that is happening in my life. If you listen carefully, you will hear me speak about parts of my life that I have never shared before. Be true,” says Unathi.
The latest single from the album, Hallo Sana, speaks of the plight of a working mother and the pain of having to leave her kids at home while she goes to work to put food on the table.
This is a song about sacrifice and the joy that comes from giving up a lot just to make sure your kids are happy. Hallo Sana speaks about the challenges many women face daily.
“I have lived this and I have seen the joy on my children’s faces when I go back home. Be strong.”
The #UnathiBTSTour will travel to six cities, spanning five provinces. Tickets are on sale at Computicket for R150 per person and will also be available at the door on the night of the show at R200 per person.
The concert will take place in Jembe at Meropa Casino at 20:00.
