LIMPOPO – This ongoing taxi feud between the Masemola and Jane Furse Taxi Associations has been on and off for several months and yesterday led to two taxis being damaged (one torched) and alleged incidents of sporadic shooting, said Police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

The people responsible for these incidents are still unknown and the Public Order Police Unit are still monitoring the area, Ngoepe added.
“Five cases of malicious damage to property and one of attempted murder are being investigated.”

“Those working in the taxi industry are once more warned to refrain from these irresponsible acts. You cannot resolve your conflicts by committing a crime because there is no justifiable reason to attack each other and also damage the properties in the name of business. People who are still perpetrating this type of acts are going to be dealt with mercilessly and without compromise, concluded Lt Genl Ledwaba.
