LIMPOPO – In a concerted effort to eradicate incidents of trio crimes in Limpopo, ongoing intelligence driven joint operations continue to yield positive and meaningful results, says police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
In the Marble Hall Policing area, outside Groblesdal, a tactical intelligence driven joint operation composed of the crime intelligence unit, Marble Hall police, Lezman Security, Loskop Alarm and the Marble Hall Police Reserve Force was activated on Friday, 8 June.

This, after receiving a tip off from the community about a planned business burglary which was going to happen at one of the shops in and around the Marble Hall policing area.
“Five suspects, between the ages of 32 and 43-years-old were arrested after being caught grinding the safe inside the shop,” Ngoepe explained.
During the arrest, the following items were recovered:
– A blue bosch grinder, five grinder blades, house breaking equipment, and cash.
Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Jan Scheepers, has applauded all units and external role players who participated in this operation for the job well done.
“The South African Police Service in Limpopo is determined to deal with all crime categories, especially trio crimes, head-on and we are therefore requesting communities to continue supporting us through partnership policing and through quality and reliable information at all times because we are equal to the task,” concluded General Scheepers.
The arrested suspects will appear before the Groblesdal Magistrates Court, soon.
