LIMPOPO – Police in Bolobedu, outside Tzaneen are investigating a case of murder, which occurred on Monday night, 11 September, in Madibeng village.

Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says during the conflict, the man locked his wife inside the hut and set it alight, before fleeing the scene.

“Members of the family attempted to extinguish the fire but it burned to ashes and the woman died instantly,” says Ngoepe.

The man was found hanging from a tree in the nearby bushes.

“The deceased were identified as Elizabeth and Albert Lenexa from Madibeng village,” Ngoepe confirmed.

He concluded by saying the cause of the domestic conflict is still unknown but that police investigations will continue.
