Four arson and public violence suspects in axe murderer’s case in court

LIMPOPO – According to Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe the case against the four suspects, January Thamane (56), Mike Mashegoane (34), Christable Manzini (35) and Johannes Mashifane (52) has been postponed to 25 May 2017.

LIMPOPO – A special joint operation composing of various police units was conducted in Zaaiplaas outside Groblesdal, on Saturday 22 April, tracing all suspects involved in the Limpopo axe murderer case where eleven (11) suspects aged between 17 and 52-years-old were arrested for arson and public violence.

Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says it is alleged that the local community mobilised and burnt the houses of the murder  suspect’s parents which are an 8 roomed house, RDP house and a shack with the estimated value of R250 000.

“The arson and public violence suspects will appear before the Groblesdal Magistrate Court on Monday and more arrests are still expected following continuing police investigations.

 

21 April

LIMPOPO – The suspect, Lolo Madonsela (30), was remanded in custody until 25 May to allow for further police investigations, said Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

The  incident in question, occurred at the at Zaaiplaas new stands on Tuesday morning, where Madonsela is alleged to have murdered Anna Mashifane (39) with a sharp instrument and then sucked the blood from her body.

The police in Zaaiplaas outside Groblersdal are also investigating cases of arson and public violence after locals torched the houses belonging to Madonsela’s parents last night (Thursday), he added.

“The family were forced to flee the village because of the incident and the estimated damage caused is around R250 000.”

The Limpopo Police are warning residents to refrain from taking the law into their hands, saying this is a serious offence which is punishable by the law.

No arrests have been made following the incident concluded Ngoepe.

LIMPOPO – The police in Zaaiplaas outside Groblesdal have arrested a 30-year-old man for the murder of his next door neighbour.

According to a statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the  incident happened at the at Zaaiplaas new stands at around 07:00 this morning (Tuesday).

“It is alleged a passerby found the suspect chopping at the female victim (39) with a sharp instrument and then sucked the blood from the deceased body,” said Ngoepe.

The police were alerted and the members arrived on the scene to find the suspect still with an axe in his hands and arrested him.

“The people who witnessed the incident, including the deceased’s children, are receiving counselling from the local authorities.”

The suspect will appear before the court soon on a charge of murder.

Police investigations continue.
