POLOKWANE – Members of the Provincial Flying Squad have made a breakthrough after they followed a tip-off from residents about the existence of the counterfeit goods at a house in Seshego, Extention 76 on Friday evening at around 18:00.

“They reacted swiftly and located the house. The house was searched and a 36-year-old  man was arrested and 1720 boxes of Pacific cigarettes confiscated,” said Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

“The estimated value of these cigarettes is R258 000,” he continued.

A Nissan bakkie believed to be used in transporting these cigarretes was also confiscated, added Ngoepe.

The suspect will appear before Seshego Magistrate Court soon and the police investigations continue.
