POLOKWANE – Hino Sales Executive, Hannes Swanepoel, headed this project.
Swanepoel has been with the dealership for the past three years and boasts 13 years experience in the truck sales industry, and together with Hino Limpopo Sales Manager, Bergh van Rooyen, took on the mammoth task.
For the contract Hino Limpopo had to provide 43 of the Hino 300-series 815 LWB (long wheel base) trucks and eight of the Hino 500-series 1324 FC (freight carrier) models.
This massive deal was requested from Lobel’s Fresh Bread, a firm based in Harare, Zimbabwe. The advertising labelling for the trucks was also done in the city before they were exported to Zimbabwe.
“It certainly was an enormous task to conclude, the logistics alone were very challenging, but the feeling of being able to deliver the product and settle the contract with a highly satisfied client makes all the effort worthwhile. All the Hino trucks were delivered to the firm in Harare from where they will be distributed to the firm’s various branches across Zimbabwe,” says Swanepoel.
Apart from being one of the biggest deals in Hino Limpopo’s history, it also marks a milestone for Swanepoel. He says this sales contract is the biggest in his career so far.
“I am pleased to say that everything went exceptionally well and that Hino Limpopo was able to serve yet another satisfied client”
Hino South Africa added five more derivatives to its already comprehensive range of 300-series medium commercial vehicles (MCV) as a response to customer requirements in the middle of 2015.The range has now grown from eight to 13 variants, providing a comprehensive product line-up in the local MCV market.
The Hino 300 range now offers an ideal transport solution for urban, inter-city and regional deliveries with an approximate body and payload allowance of between 3 390 to 5 950 kg.
Hino has one of the largest footprints of any commercial vehicle brand in South Africa with 65 dealers countrywide, 21 of them exclusive truck dealers.
In addition, Hino continues to fare very well in the regular Scott Byers Comparative Customer Satisfaction surveys which measure a brand’s performance in the key areas of sales, parts and service.
Several running changes are taking place in the Hino 500-Series range between August and the end of this year.
Two of the changes are regulatory and involve the fitment of a speed limiter and anti-skid brakes (ABS) while there are related product changes relating to the engines.
The speed limiters will permit a maximum speed of 80 km/h for all trucks with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) exceeding 9 000 kg which all Hino 500-Series trucks will comply with.
